Our Story

P’NAI — Tale of a Journey

I came to America in 1988 chasing a dream — the same dream that has carried millions of Filipinos across oceans, far from home, far from the people they love. Like so many of us, I built a life here through hard work and faith. But no matter how many years passed or how far I traveled, one thing never left me: my love for where I come from.

I am proud to be Filipina. Proud of our warmth, our resilience, our beauty, and the culture that raised me. Yet for so long, I looked around the fashion world and rarely saw us — our stories, our heritage, our spirit — reflected back. I wanted to change that. I wanted the Filipina to be seen. To stand out in any crowd, anywhere in the world, and wear her roots with pride.

That is why P’NAI was born.

P’NAI comes from “pinay” — our beloved word for a Filipina, especially one carrying her heritage with her as she lives abroad, just like me. Every piece we create is a love letter to her. A love letter to the woman who left home to build a better future, who holds her family close even from thousands of miles away, who carries the Philippines in her heart no matter where she lands.

Our designs are rooted in where we come from. In the textures, colors, and memories of back home — the ones that catch you off guard and fill your chest with longing and joy all at once. For the Filipina in the diaspora, I want each piece to feel like nostalgia you can wear. A reminder of your lola’s house, of Sunday gatherings, of the islands, of who you are and who raised you. Something that whispers home even when home is far away.

But P’NAI is more than nostalgia — it’s advocacy. It’s a celebration of the Filipina spirit and a stand for our place in the world. When you wear P’NAI, you’re not just wearing fashion. You’re carrying passion, memory, and pride. You’re telling the world: this is my heritage, and I wear it beautifully.

To every Filipina — near or far, dreamer or doer — this brand is for you. For your courage. For your roots. For the way you shine wherever you go.

P’NAI believes dreams do come true. And we believe the Filipina deserves to be celebrated, seen, and proud.

Welcome home.

With love and pride,
Dina Rustia
